Program Overview

SFT's Early Childhood Development (ECD) Program supports the holistic growth and well-being of young children aged 0–8 years by strengthening caregiving practices, early learning,health, nutrition, and child protection at the family and community level.

SFT works closely with schools, community, orphanages, parents, caregivers, and partner organizations to promote nurturing care environments that allow children to survive, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Recognizing that early childhood is a critical foundation for lifelong learning and development, our approach prioritizes low-cost, community-based, and parent-centered interventions, particularly in underserved communities.

Our ECD Focus Areas

The ECD Program focuses on the following key pillars:

Early Learning and School Readiness: Supporting age-appropriate learning through play, storytelling, and structured learning hubs in schools and orphanages.
Positive Parenting and Caregiver Education: Strengthening parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge on responsive caregiving, early

stimulation, child protection, and nutrition through school meetings and community sessions.

Child Well-being and Protection: Promoting safe, nurturing, and protective environments for young children by raising

awareness on child rights, safeguarding, and psychosocial well-being.

Health, Nutrition and Hygiene Awareness: Integrating basic health, nutrition, and hygiene messages that support children’s

physical and cognitive development.

Our Approach

We deliver our ECD interventions through:

School-Based Learning Hubs: Short, structured learning sessions conducted during or after school hours, including

weekends where possible.

Parent and Caregiver Engagement: Brief but impactful sessions delivered during parent–teacher meetings and community

gatherings.

Partnership-Based Outreach: Joint implementation with schools, orphanages, and partner NGOs during field activities to maximize reach and reduce costs.
Play, Sports and Storytelling: Child-friendly methods that encourage learning through play, creativity, and social interaction.
Digital Awareness: Sharing ECD messages, tips, and learning resources through social media and online platforms.

Expected Outcomes

Through the ECD Program, we aim to:

Improve parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge of early childhood development and positive parenting practices
Enhance school readiness and early learning experiences for young children
Promote safer and more nurturing environments for children at home and in schools
Strengthen community awareness of the importance of early childhood investment
