Mental Health and psychological Well-being Program

Program Overview

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being Program aims to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and positive mental health among children, youth, and women in vulnerable communities. Mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, trauma, stigma, and social isolation remain widespread, yet access to mental health services is often limited, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. Sustainable Futures Tanzania works to address these gaps by increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and creating safe spaces for emotional expression and support. As part of our Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being Program, Sustainable Futures Tanzania has introduced the “My Mind, My Life” Campaign, a youth-focused mental health awareness initiative aimed at reducing stigma, increasing understanding, and promoting positive mental well-being.

The campaign focuses on creating safe spaces where young people can learn about mental health, share experiences, and develop healthy coping skills. Through both digital platforms and community outreach activities, the campaign addresses common mental health challenges affecting youth, including stress, anxiety, and depression.

Currently, through our Instagram platform, SFT has begun delivering educational content on depression among youth, covering: Understanding depression and its symptoms, Breaking myths and stigma around mental health, Encouraging help-seeking behavior and peer support

In addition, mental health awareness is integrated into our community and school outreach activities, where discussions are facilitated through sports, storytelling, and peer-led dialogue to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
